New Apartment
So much happened in March... there's still more.
We've moved into our new apartment in Taikoo Shing... apparently ex-pats have no idea where it is, so we're living with the "locals," and having as the ex-pats say - full Asian emersion Mommy and Daddy actually don't mind and actually prefer it. Mmmmm... maybe because we are Asian...
Anyway - I get my own room and bathroom here. Plus my bed is a bunk bed! We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a water view balcony and it is almost double the size of our NY 1 bedroom. There's a real kitchen too... so Mommy and Daddy actually cook. Can you believe it? I only thought food came through the front door- delivery not the kitchen in the apartment. And it's all edible. : ) I'm not starving. Puo Puo helped them learn one new dish to make too... but's that's all they make sometimes. They are improving the variety though! I don't have to eat chow faan everyday for lunch at school.
The apartment has come pretty furnished with TV and all. Daddy can't live without TV. Mommy actually likes to turn it off, which you can tell makes Daddy a little crazy... but he has gotten better because he sees I'm much more focused without the TV on. I draw, color and play with my toys... Oh yes my Toys!!! We'll get to that later.
So the only thing Mommy and Daddy had to buy was a sofa for the living room and a bed for the master bedroom. The apartment is a muted gray blue (think of the muted mauve in the NY bathroom and change it to blue.) Not Mommy and Daddy's choice - but it is what it is. Anyway, while Puo Puo is here, they take trips to IKEA. Yes, IKEA - right in Causeway Bay ( the Times Square of Hong Kong.)
They look at futons, they look at sofas, they look at beds.
They try sitting and sleeping on all of them.
They are so silly.
The cost of the 2 sofas they buy costs less than the mattress pad they buy for me, that's because Mommy only gets the best for me... Anyway, they bought the cheapest sofas... but not because they are cheap - but because it was the most comfortable sofa with big seating and it all happens to match perfectly with the apartment. Mommy actually wouldn't mind bringing back to NY... the sofas actually look really nice and modern (they didn't go for the poofy stuff, the frames are actually wood no padding that's probably why so cheap.) Just need to add some real nice pillows and they're done. The bed that they bought was the same - the mattress cost more than double the frame - but it works perfectly too, because Mommy won't bang her clumsy self on the bed posts. The main requirement for the bed frame was no big bed posts for the sake of Mommy's knees.
