Where's the Soda??

So we have a routine now... KaoFu picks me up from school and we have dinner together, while Mommy and Daddy sometimes work through dinner.

Mommy and Daddy usually don't let me have too much soda. They tell me it's not good for me (even though I know Daddy sometimes drinks it like water...) Mommy doesn't buy soda on purpose, so there is no opportunity. But since KaoFu is here, it is a special occasion and we have some soda in the apartment.

Anyway, on one of our usual dinner days... Mommy comes home and is talking to KaoFu. Then KaoFu gets this perplexed look mid-sentence. He could have sworn he had a sip of soda left. Then they both look at me. "Edison... did you drink KaoFu's soda?" Long pause... no real answer. Not a true denial, not a true yes. Maybe KaoFu was imagining things.

An hour later... Daddy calls on the phone. He's telling us what time he will be home and asks if I've been a good boy... at which point I blurt out, as though I've been waiting to tell my secret to somebody "I drank KaoFu's soda... I did it."
As much as my Daddy and I fight, I guess I can still tell him anything. Mommy and Daddy hope that I will continue through my teen years I will be still able to tell them anything...

By the way - Mommy just realized the story might have been for milk tea and not soda, but that's ok - you get the idea...

I love my Mommy!

It's Mommy's first morning back from Philippines.
We have a nice breakfast together. Just me and Mommy.

Then I remember I have something for Mommy. I tell Mommy - or rather what Mommy hears is "I have Nicholas" or something like that.
Mommy's thinking I have something from my friend Nicholas I want to show her. So she has this funny look... silly Mommy. Then I go into my schoolbag and pull out a necklace I made for Mother's day. She was so overjoyed, something from her pumpkin that he had so remembered to give her... Mommy wore it the minute I gave it to her, she gave me lots of hugs and kisses. Now none of Mommy's jewelry can compare to this most priceless piece made of string, cut straws and most of all Edison's love.

Where did Mommy and Daddy go?

Daddy has started his new job, and now Mommy has gone to Philippines. She took a plane and is staying over there, but she calls me everyday before I go to bed. Lucky for me KaoFu is here though.
I miss my Mommy so... but it has been very good to have KaoFu. He meets me at lunch time sometimes... but the good thing is I get to go on my school field trips because KaoFu is here.

One trip was to the beach! Sand again... but not Uncle Bill's sand. When we got to the beach KaoFu started putting suntan lotion on me... of course I don't want it. I give KaoFu a very hard time. Then he said it... "Mommy wants KaoFu to..." it really doesn't matter what it is, but Mommy wants me to do it. To KaoFu's delight, I let him put on the lotion. Nevermind the fact that Mommy really doesn't want me to lose my bak soot sootness (basically not get tanned.) ... but I actually did listen.

Daddy says I don't listen well to Mommy, because Mommy lets me get away with a little more and baby's me too... but Mommy thinks I do listen to her.

So, when KaoFu told Mommy that he pulled the "Mommy card" the first time and I did as asked, Mommy was touched because then she know how much I love her and that I listen to her even when she's not there.

My Fu Fu is here!!!!

KaoFu is here!! He's come to take care of me!

My Uncle Walter loves me so!!! He flew all the way from the US to help take care of me now that Daddy will be going to work and since Mommy is going to Philippines this month.

Fu Fu cooks so well and likes to cook here... almost everyday he goes to buy groceries so he can cook a fresh dinner for me. He picks me up after school... takes me to the park and then home for dinner. Mommy and Daddy work through dinner sometimes, so it's just me a my KaoFu. We have fun together. On the weekends, KaoFu makes me yummy egg omelette with cheese and ham. Dinner once was spaghetti with meat sauce - I ate a whole plate and wanted more and more.

While he was here we took the "Peak Tram" that went up and up and up the mountain... almost 45 degree angles. Then for Dragon Boat Festival - we went to Stanley to see the races. To get there we took a double decker bus that went across Hong Kong Island... up mountain, through the trees were also some mini waterfalls. It was so beautiful! I was such a good sport sitting/standing at the beach, that Mommy said we could take the mini light bus home. I like the mini bus... Daddy bought me one before, but I broke the door on accident. Daddy couldn't fix it. Mommy couldn't fix it... but KaoFu - he fixed it!
Now I take my mini-bus to bed every night, and in the morning I always park it next to the sink while brush my teeth like a good boy.
I'm so luck to have my KaoFu.

Report Card?

Who's ever heard of a 3 year old receiving a report card? I think only the Chinese with previous British rule...

Daddy was actually disappointed... Mommy laughed. No "needs improvement" listed but even numbers of satisfactory and good job, despite his 2 "Super Job" certificates.
Daddy is being typical Chinese parent... he says what happened to all the good jobs?
Mommy is being Mommy... and says what can they possibly grade my 3yr old on?
Apparently "being tidy and neat", "crying easily(or not)" - yes they actually use the word crying... and "being creative" are things that can be graded. He's only 3!!!!
What planet is the school from? Perhaps one that starts with a U.
Ok. Mommy's become a little too open with her thoughts... she must calm down and keep this at a General Audience rating, so when I get bigger I won't be embarrassed what she says.

PS - Mommy hates my summer uniform. It's like a shirt that's on backwards... buttons down the back and collar in the front. It's cute if I were a girl or 1 year old. But I'm not either.
So we're hunting for plain white shirts to sew the school patch/logo... instant new comfortable summer uniform.
