The day after Auntie Cousin Olivia's wedding we all went to Uncle Cousin Eric's house for a barbeque. So many of Mommy's cousins were there - we hardly see everyone now since Great-Grandpa Mei passed away. When I was a baby, there were always events happening that we would visit Great-Grandpa Mei back in NY.

Mommy gets so happy and sad when she thinks about all the holidays she used to have when she was little - with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Happy that she had them, but sad that there aren't so many anymore...
One thing they used to have was the "Mei-Olympics" where the Aunt and Uncle generation would have sporting events against the nephew and neice generation. They played volleyball, basketball, relay races and softball. It was once a year for a few years.

Anyway, in Seattle - we went to a park near by and I played my first catch of a football.
Mommy kept getting panic attacks because the football is so hard and I am still he little baby.
After a few tries, I finally caught my first one!

Then Mommy even let me run through a sprinkler... that was fun and wet too.
This was a very fun trip!

The Wedding procession is about to start. Mommy is begging and pleading with me... candy, soda, gummy bears, twizzlers, jeally beans...
I still say no.

Then Olivia the blushing and breathtaking beautiful bride comes to say hello.
Mommy says to me - look here is Princess Olivia.
She needs Edison to be like a Prince and walk down the aisle by himself.
You could see my stubborness faultering... it was truly the fact that Olivia looked like Princess.
So, holding my pack of gummy bears (actually there were Hello Kitty from the airport meal.)
Finger on corner of mouth, as I do this now when stressed.
I start following the procession, behind the flower girls.
Mommy darts away and I keep walking... walking... and walking.
I make to the end - all by myself. Mommy and everyone are so proud.
I happily eat my Hello Kitty gummies.

Of course when I get back to Hong Kong, I tell Nai Nai that I was the ring boy for Princess Olivia and walked down the aisle all by myself like it was nothing at all.
Mommy wonders how convenient... as I continue to tell everyone I see that I was the amazing ring boy for Princess Olivia.

Mommy, Daddy and I all got on a plane to go to Seattle. It is Mommy's cousin Olivia's wedding - and I am the ring boy!

Gong Gong and Pau Pau were going to pick us up at the airport. They specially wrapped up my car seat from New York and brought it to Seattle. I was so happy to see GongGong and PauPau when we arrived... but had the most fun with te car seat. It brought back memories, and I climbed in it and sat in it for a while even though it wasn't even in the car yet.

Grand Auntie Flora and Sandra picked us up. And I impressed everyone with my Manderin!

We stayed at a hotel and GongGong / PauPau were next door. It was so nice to see them again.
Yee Yee came the next day and Grand Uncle Philip. We went swimming at the pool, everyone was so impressed that I could swim!

Then the Rehearsal for the wedding came... we went to the church... and I wouldn't walk down the aisle by myself (dragged Mommy with me.) Nope. No way, no how. Everyone was very disappointed... and worried for the wedding day.

Now time for the Wedding... first of all it's July. It's hot and there's no air conditioning. Oh an by the way, I have to wear a suit and tie... of course beacause I am the ring boy. All morning I fight with Daddy and will not wear the black tie... I have a red tie which Mommy forgot to bring that I wanted to wear. Nothing but my red tie with the choo choo trains. Ahh... someone finds a bow tie. I don't want to wear a bow tie... and I'm very hot. So downstairs is air conditioned... everyone says go downstairs. Guess what else is down there?

The children's play room... fun fun... new toys. Mommy starts thinking - oh great, now how do I get him to leave the room? I'm still not dressed and now I'm running around playing with toys getting warm. Defeating the whole purpose. Grand Uncle Alfred stops in and magically calms everything down - he's so calm, so it must have rubbed off. Mommy actually somehow magically got me to put on the bow tie, and is now bribing me with all the candy and soda I want if only I'll walk down the aisle. I still say no. No amount of candy or soda will get me to do this.
Mommy is distressed.

Ms. Gloria has now been with us almost a month...
At first I would not let her help with anything... still wanted only my Mommy.
I was so mean one time - I told Ms. Gloria to go home...

There was the one trip to Philippines that I really was not happy - the whole 3 days was I want my Mommy. Daddy was here, Nai Nai was here, and Ms. Gloria too, but I still only wanted my Mommy. Even when Mommy came home a day earlier I was still saying, "I want my Mommy." I caught myself a few times though and giggled with glee since Mommy was here already.

Mommy kept telling me that I should let Ms. Gloria help, my answer was usually no - I want Mommy to do it. But perhaps, it was the one time Mommy said for me to let Ms. Gloria help, so Mommy wouldn't be so tired... from then Mommy noticed that I slowly started not being as difficult, and would let Ms. Gloria help.
See I listen to Mommy, Daddy still thinks I don't. Mommy doesn't have to yell at me all the time for me to listen... as Daddy thinks is the case.

Anyway, Ms. Gloria / Auntie Gloria has become someone I can find comfort from on occasion now.
